Virtual Machines For Ethical Hacking
This is my first online training course, aimed at those looking to get started with virtualisation, and Linux fundamentals. The course is designed to prepare you to take further courses in ethical hacking and penetration testing.

- How to set up new virtual machines using VirtualBox.
- How to install Debian to a virtual machine.
- About the concept of the root user, and the sudo command.
- How to install VirtualBox Guest Additions.
- Setting up a basic firewall using Uncomplicated Firewall.
- How to install software using the command-line in Debian.
- How to set up a vulnerable virtual machine, for hacking into.

Description
I’ll guide you through the process of downloading and installing a hypervisor called VirtualBox, creating your first virtual machine (VM) and installing a Linux distribution called Debian to it. I’ll show you some command-line basics, and Linux fundamentals that are crucial to anyone starting their ethical hacking journey. I’ll also show you how to set up an intentionally vulnerable virtual machine for practising against. At the end of this course, you’ll be in a great position to start learning proper hacking tools, in a safe and secure environment.
Who this course is for:
- Beginners in ethical hacking.
- Beginners in virtualisation and VirtualBox.
- Newcomers to Linux and the command-line.
- Anyone with an interest in computing and computing security, but without any solid experience.
